History

In the evolving VoIP marketplace, technological leadership can only be won through vision, innovation and proven implementation. To gain this advantage, in 2001 a private investor co- founded EdgeAccess in the US Virgin Islands, merging the technological strength and resources from two leading VoIP companies, zeroplus and IPAXS.

By leveraging the best from both companies, EdgeAccess designs feature rich, superior, affordable convergence products quickly, meeting urgent government and industry demands for immediate, mobile and integrated data and voice communications.

By combining the proven patented technology, visionary leadership and innovation from these two pioneer VoIP companies, EdgeAccess' UAD, VoIP gateway and softswitch provide voice and data convergence with unrivaled voice quality and reliability. These provide customers a decided advantage over their competitors by decreasing costs, increase profitability AND productivity.

Credentials
Recognizing the market potential and technological feasibility of converged voice and data, zeroplus invested over 20 million dollars and 50 years of hardware and software. zeroplus' patents, which comprise voice digitization, compression and decompression, switching and a significant set of value added telecommunications features, control the principal components of the industry's digital telephony architecture and reflect technology uniquely built with easy integration as a key feature.

Founded in 1997, IPAXS Corporation was a leading provider of voice over IP solutions and systems for broadband local telephony, global long distance and enterprise telephony applications. IPAXS' offerings were based on a product family that included a virtual switch platform -- a distributed architecture of IADs, gateways and call agents for the next generation "IP local switch." The virtual switch platform offered the innovative capabilities of Web-based provisioning and management that can reduce the operations costs of the service providers while enabling end users to manage their telephony service via the Internet.

Our leadership consists of a technically powerful, business smart and results oriented management team. Key members have worked together for a number of years. Others were hand picked to round out the skill sets necessary to take our customers to the leading Edge. Their skills are complementary to include telecommunications and information technology expertise; recognized corporate leadership talent; and, proven strategic marketing proficiency. Meet EdgeAccess' cornerstone:

ROBERT A. VESCHI, President, CEO, and co-founder, was the founder, President and CEO of zeroplus since its inception in January 1995. Mr. Veschi has 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry to include both telephony and data communications as well as network management. From 1990 to 1994, Mr. Veschi was Group President of the Advanced Technology Division at I-NET, Inc. During his tenure there, revenues at the company increased twenty-fold to $300 million and he was personally responsible for the design and implementation of software and hardware management systems for the largest private telecommunications network in the world. Mr. Veschi attended Texas A&M. A highly regarded industry thought leader, he routinely advises the industry regarding the "next wave" in telecommunications and VoIP.

HAYSAM RACHID, Chief Technology Officer, brings 20 years experience in software engineering and innovation in the telecommunications industry. Prior to EdgeAccess, Mr. Rachid was Vice-president of Research & Development and co-founder of IPAXS, responsible for the design & development of VoIP hardware and software. In 1995 as Vice-president of Development for EDIX Corporation, Mr. Rachid designed and developed a nationwide, real-time Voice Response Healthcare management information system. Mr. Rachid holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of South Florida and majored in Digital Signal Processing and Microelectronics in Graduate School.
